Location
The Forest District Krzystkowice in Nowogród Bobrzański is one of the three biggest in area forest districts in Poland. It lies in the basin of the Odra, Bóbr and Nysa tributaries and is managed by the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Zielona Góra.

History
The post-war history of The Forest District Krzystkowice is closely related with the history of the western lands of Poland. The process of creating forest administration went along with the process of providing origins of government administration. The most important issues that foresters had to deal with after the end of World war II were: making inventory of timber acquired by the Germans and delivering it to timber depots, post-agricultural land afforestation, extinguishing war fires, cleaning and renewal of fire sites, reconstructing them mainly with pine ( manual sowing). In 1951 the general forest stand inventory was made to evidence the existing forest resources.
Forest district arrangement
Forest district is a basic, independent organizational unit of State Forests and runs its activity in accordance with the Forest Act. It reports to the Regional Directorate of State Forests, which supervises and coordinates activities performed in the area it comprises. Forest districts are divided into forest ranges.
Cooperation
Krzystkowice Forest District co-operates with Landratsamt Bautzen Kreisforstamt (County Forest Office) from Saxony
